Psalm 89:33–38

LET’S BE HONEST FOR A SECOND…
Waiting is hard.
Whether it’s waiting for a breakthrough, an answer to prayer, a job, healing, a spouse, or just clarity — it’s exhausting when it feels like nothing’s moving.
You try to stay faithful. You pray. You trust.
But the longer it takes, the more you wonder…
“God, did You forget?”
“Did I hear You wrong?”
“Is this even still coming?”
IF THAT’S YOU, HERE’S SOME TRUTH TO HOLD ON TO
Let’s unpack some really good news from Psalm 89:
1. GOD DOESN’T BREAK HIS PROMISES
Verse 35 says it straight: “I won’t break My promise or take back a single word.”
People change their minds. Plans fall through.
But God? He keeps His word. Always.
2. GOD DOESN’T GHOST YOU WHEN YOU MESS UP
Even when we stumble or fall short, God doesn’t throw up His hands and walk away.
He might correct us, yes. But He won’t quit on us.
Verse 33 reminds us, “I won’t take My love from him or fail to be faithful.”
He’s not looking for perfect behavior.
He’s looking for a heart that comes back — again and again.
3. SOMETIMES GOD WORKS ON A DIFFERENT TIMELINE
Psalm 89 talks about a forever kingdom, a throne that lasts like the sky.
That’s big. That’s not “by next week.”
What God is doing in your life might be part of something way bigger — something that’s about more than just your current comfort.
4. JESUS IS THE PROOF HE KEEPS HIS WORD
God promised a King would come from David’s family line.
It took centuries. There were ups and downs, disobedience, even exile.
But then Jesus was born — just like God said.
If He fulfilled that promise, He can fulfill the one you’re waiting on too.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT TODAY
- What’s something you’ve been waiting on that’s starting to feel hopeless?
- What would it look like to trust God with it today — not just someday?
TODAY’S PRAYER
God, I know You don’t forget. But I do.
I forget how faithful You’ve been.
I forget You’re still working even when I don’t see it.
So today, I choose to trust again.
Remind me that You haven’t let go of what You promised.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
ONE SMALL THING TO DO TODAY

God’s silence is never His absence. And His delay is never His denial.
